4-H Leaders Build Skills at Leadership Symposium

The Barbados 4-H Foundation hosted its 4-H Leaders’ Symposium on 14th September at the Animal Nutrition Unit, Pine Plantation Road, St. Michael, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
The symposium brought 4-H leaders together for a day of learning, collaboration and practical activities designed to strengthen their ability to effectively lead and support 4-H clubs. Throughout the day, participants took part in a variety of fun, interactive and challenging activities that encouraged teamwork, leadership, creativity and problem-solving.
A practical pickling activity was also included in the programme, giving leaders an opportunity to develop hands-on food preparation and preservation skills that can be shared with young 4-H members through future club activities.
The Foundation was also pleased to welcome Mrs. Natasha Lee as the special guest speaker. Mrs. Lee shared her experiences, knowledge and words of encouragement with the leaders, offering valuable insight into leadership and the importance of positively guiding and supporting young people.
The symposium provided an opportunity for leaders to connect with one another, exchange ideas and strengthen the skills needed to create engaging and meaningful experiences within their respective 4-H clubs.
Through initiatives such as the Leaders’ Symposium, the Barbados 4-H Foundation continues to invest in its volunteer leaders while building their capacity to inspire, educate and empower the next generation of 4-H members.
