A Taste of Tradition: Barbados 4-H Food Shop Opening at Cheapside Market

Something delicious is coming to Bridgetown!
The Barbados 4-H Foundation is preparing to open its new 4-H Food Shop in October 2026 at Stall #FS1, Upstairs, Cheapside Market, Bridgetown, bringing customers a taste of familiar local favourites with a comforting “Granny’s-style” touch.
The Food Shop will serve up a variety of traditional and flavour-packed options, including fried necks, gizzards and livers, rabbit, pickled necks and chicken feet.
For customers on the move, there will also be convenient grab-and-go cutters, with choices including ham, fish and liver.
Those looking for something a little heartier can enjoy a selection of Creole specials, while customers with a sweet tooth can look forward to a range of desserts.
And no local meal is complete without something refreshing! The 4-H Food Shop will also offer seven varieties of natural local juices, giving customers even more Barbadian flavours to enjoy.
More than just a place to grab a bite, the new Food Shop will provide another way for the Barbados 4-H Foundation to connect with the public while celebrating local food, tradition and community.
Whether you're stopping in for a quick cutter, craving an old-time favourite or looking for a satisfying local meal, there will be something waiting for you at the 4-H Food Shop.
