Coming Soon: CCPRO Launches in October 2026

The Barbados 4-H Foundation is preparing to officially launch the Climate Change Project on Rainfall Observation (CCPRO) in October 2026, marking an exciting new chapter in youth engagement, climate education and citizen science.
CCPRO is a youth-focused climate initiative designed to increase young people’s understanding of rainfall observation, weather monitoring and climate change through a combination of classroom learning and hands-on activities. Through the project, participating students will be introduced to topics related to climate, rainfall and weather observation while also gaining practical experience with the construction, use and monitoring of 3D weather stations. The programme is expected to engage young people from schools across Barbados while strengthening their skills in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).
The initiative is being implemented by the Barbados 4-H Foundation with support from key project partners, including the Barbados Meteorological Services (BMS), Caribbean Institute for Meteorology and Hydrology (CIMH) and Oceana Innovation Hub, with funding support from the Barbados Environmental Sustainability Fund (BESF).
CCPRO will also provide opportunities for educators and 4-H leaders to strengthen their knowledge and support students throughout the programme, helping to build a wider network of climate-conscious young people and mentors.
With the official launch approaching, participating students, educators, partners and stakeholders can look forward to a programme that combines education, technology and practical climate action.
Stay tuned as CCPRO officially launches in October 2026 and begins empowering young people to observe, understand and respond to changes in our climate.
Our Climate. Our Action. Our 4-H Future.
