From Ideas to Impact: Barbados 4-H Joins Eco-Youth Workshop

On Saturday, 23rd May 2026, representatives of the Barbados 4-H Foundation participated in Green Rising Barbados’ first “Eco-Youth Ideas to Impact” Workshop, held from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The Foundation was represented by Ms. Faith Waithe, Programme Associate, and Mr. Brandon Hewitt, Field Officer.
The workshop was designed to introduce young people to Green Rising Barbados, including its objectives, goals and wider environmental movement. Participants also learned about the organisation’s call for proposals, creating an opportunity for youth to explore how their own ideas could contribute to positive environmental and community impact.
A key part of the workshop was its interactive approach. Participants were encouraged to begin developing basic proposal ideas that aligned with the goals of Green Rising Barbados, helping them think more critically about environmental issues and how practical ideas can be transformed into meaningful action.
The Barbados 4-H Foundation’s participation in the workshop reflected its continued commitment to exposing young people to opportunities that promote environmental awareness, innovation, leadership and youth-led action.
Through initiatives such as the Eco-Youth Ideas to Impact Workshop, 4-H continues to support opportunities that encourage young people to move from ideas to action while contributing to a more sustainable future.
